Hi Chris, Douglas asked me to send you more info on my computational needs. this is based on my experience with CFHTLS, the NGVS data volume/flow is going to be slightly larger. I basically have to have a dedicated multiCPU server (4x4cores) with one big partition of disk space (16x400GB=7T) for running the photoz and shape measurement pipelines (codes are openmp parallelised). the large disk space is required by the fact some tasks need to be performed at the swarped individual exposure level (satellite removal, masking, and crossID cataloguing). some backup being also necessary, i'd split the 7TB in 2 unequal partitions. the total budget for such machine is around 12K (disk space)+15-20K for the CPUs, let me know if you need more, cheers ludo --
